Not every product is one people naturally want to post about, so how do you make gifting work anyway? In this clip, Taryn Williams, founder of Gifted, shares the reframe that changes everything: stop gifting volume of your product, and start building an appealing gifting experience.

Her example says it all. Early on, a tea brand wanted to gift $150 worth of tea, and Taryn pointed out that nobody needs 30 packets of tea. Instead, she suggested packaging two beautiful teacups, a teapot, a serving tray and two packets of tea, all in the brand's colours. Suddenly the brand controls the content that comes back, and the creator instantly sees how they'd style it. Taryn's honest test for any brand: would you, as the founder, authentically post about this? Fashion, beauty, hotels and restaurants play organically into social. If your product doesn't, you either make the offer more engaging or you accept you'll have to pay more. As Nathan puts it, there's a tax for being a boring brand, and that tax is paying influencers.
