In this episode of Add To Cart, we checkout the founder of one of the most interesting non-alcoholic brewing companies in Australia, Clinton Schultz. A Gamilaraay man, psychologist, former chef and co-founder of Sobah Beverages. In 2017, after two years on the wagon, Clinton was frustrated at the lack of adult drink options that weren’t alcoholic and launched Sobah in response. The business is on a mission to champion Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, native foods and well-being, and through their unique range of brews, help to reduce the stigma around socialising sober. From producing limited edition drinks in collaboration with musicians like Peking Duk to opening Australia’s first dedicated non-alcoholic brewery, Sobah is growing fast, just like its category.
Can you recommend a book or a podcast that our listeners should immediately get into?
I’d recommend all Australians go and read something called The Dreaming Path by Paul Callaghan and Uncle Paul Gordon.
They go into the law and cultural practices that I’m yarning about with people all the time. It’s an amazing book, I think every Australian can benefit from that book.
There’s alot of practical tips not just for life, but also for business as well.
