Stacey is the founder of Lust Minerals, Australia’s favourite clean mineral makeup and natural skincare brand. Since launching in 2014 from an initial $10,000 investment, Lust Minerals has grown into a clean beauty empire, filling a gap in the market for clean, high performance, mineral makeup & natural skincare products. Stacey has won several business awards including being crowned the Small Business Champion Entrepreneur in the 2023 Australian Small Business Champion Awards and the Beauty Business Of The Year in the 2023 AusMumpreneur Awards.

A Tale of Two Worlds

Stacey’s life is a blend of two contrasting worlds. During the week, she’s fully immersed in the beauty industry, leading Lust Minerals with a relentless drive for excellence. But on the weekends, she trades her heels for boots, retreating to her 269-acre farm on the Sunshine Coast. 

It’s here that she finds balance, spending time with her family and even caring for two donkeys she once bought online—a story that perfectly captures her unique lifestyle. “I feel like I lead two lifestyles,” Stacey says. “I’m in this beauty space and then on the weekend we have a farm… I am in heels, dressed up, full of makeup during the week, and then I head out to the farm in jeans and boots on the weekend.”

Tech Tools and Inspirations

Running a multimillion-dollar business requires the right tools and inspiration. Stacey highlights Shopify and Klaviyo as indispensable technologies that keep Lust Minerals running smoothly. “We cannot live without Shopify and Klaviyo,” she explains, emphasising how these platforms are integral to their operations and marketing.

She also shares how she draws inspiration from retail giants like Sephora, admiring their ability to communicate their brand message effectively. Stacey admits, “I’m loving what Sephora are doing and how they portray their message and do their advertising.”

But it’s not just about the tools. Stacey is a lifelong learner, constantly expanding her knowledge to improve her business. Two books that have made a significant impact on her approach are Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh, which emphasises the importance of customer service, and Rocket Fuel by Gino Wickman, which has helped her understand the vital balance between visionaries and integrators in business. “If you’re a visionary, you really need to understand the importance of having an integrator with you for a successful business,” Stacey notes.

Challenges and Reflections

Even with all her success, Stacey is candid about the challenges she faces, particularly the ongoing task of balancing in-person retail with e-commerce. 

As she continues to scale Lust Minerals, she remains committed to staying true to her values, ensuring that every decision aligns with the brand’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality beauty products. “It’s always going to be challenging to get people to want to try things online… but I feel like we are in a really good position with leaning into our virtual try-ons through AI and one-on-one consultations,” Stacey reflects.

Stacey’s journey is a testament to the power of vision, authenticity, and continuous learning. Whether she’s driving innovation in the beauty industry or finding peace on her farm, Stacey Hollands is a true embodiment of balancing ambition with mindfulness.
