Can you recommend a book or a podcast that our listeners should immediately get into?

Every day, The Squiz Today.  I just love the team at The Squiz.  It’s short, sharp, snappy, but they also do deep dives into quite complex world stories, like what’s going on in the MIddle East.

Masters of Scale is another great one.  I like the episodic collection…how Amazon got to where it was or how Netflix built their business and culture.  Anything around financial advice, what’s going on in the market Makes it really easy and accessible and I love their dynamic.

And this is an oldie but a goodie.  If anyone’s familiar with the world of podcasting, One of the founding fathers, one of the biggest podcast companies in the world, is Gimlet, which actually got bought by Spotify.  There is an actual podcast called The Start Up podcast and it follows the story of the founder founding Gimlet.

Raw and honest, so authentic.

It’s a fly on the wall documentary of him trying to raise money. There’s some stomach churning, embarrassing pitches.  He’s talking to his wife about the name and she’s like what? That’s awful!  He moves the story on, but that very first one about how they started the business is so engaging and heartwarming.
